Have your say
We think that those who know most about how to improve a service are those that actually use it. That is why we put consultation so high in our mission to improve services.
If we have an accurate picture of the needs and wants of people in the Borough we can tailor our services to meet the needs of the community.
We also have to consult with local people on a number of specific things such as planning applications, plus certain plans and strategies.
Current consultations
- 2025/26 Budget (Closes Sunday, February 9)
Share your views on our draft Tenancy Strategy. It sets out the matters that registered providers of social housing operating in the area (i.e. housing associations) should have regard to when formulating their tenancy policies for their own housing stock.
- Pedestrianisation consultation
Share your views on the pedestrianisation of Dartford High Street. We want our streets to be a safe space for everyone, for businesses to be able to flourish, for children to get to and from school safely and healthily, so our street markets can thrive and visitors can shop and have fun.
- Community safety priorities (Closes Sunday, March 2)
We want your views on how crime and disorder affects you and what you feel are priorities within your neighbourhood. This will help develop the 2025-2028 Community Safety Strategy.
- Anti-social behaviour and hate incident policy (Closes Tuesday, March 4)
Share your views on our policy which outlines the approach we take towards tackling anti-social behaviour in the borough.
- Running a business from home policy (Closes Tuesday, March 4)
The objective of the policy is to encourage Council tenants and leaseholders to set up businesses from home and we want to hear from you.
- Housing policy on the maintenance of trees, hedges and shrubs (Closes Tuesday, March 4)
If you're a council tenant or leaseholder, we want your views on our policy which sets out our approach to managing trees, hedges and shrubs within our housing grounds.
- Licensing

Consultation and Engagement Strategy
The Council has a strategy which sets out the principles and standards which it will adhere to in terms of involving local people in the design and delivery of services.
