Signalman Norman William Christie, HMS Caldwell, Royal Navy. His parents lived at 4 Cross Terrace, Stone. Died 28.10.40, aged 21, lost overboard at sea. Commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial and on the Greenhithe War Memorial.
