- Sub-Lieutenant Henry Dann, HMS Glorious, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. The family business of auctioneers/estate agents was at 3 Spital Street, Dartford, although he was living in Greenwich in 1939. Died 8.6.40, aged 24, when the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious was sunk by the Scharnhorst and the Gneisenau while evacuating aircraft from Norway. Commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
