- Flight Sergeant (Air Bomber) John Henry (‘Jack’) Draper, 358 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived at 3 Bedford Road, Dartford. Died 29.5.45, aged 23, when his Liberator bomber was shot down by Japanese fighters during a mission to drop American OSS liaison officers into the Thai jungle. Buried in Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand.
