- Sergeant (Observer) John Arthur Edwards, 7 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. His parents lived at ‘Valhalla’, 115 Darenth Road, Dartford. Died 6.5.42, aged 20, when his Stirling bomber was shot down over France during a raid on Stuttgart. Buried in Avesnes-sur-Helpe Communal Cemetery, France.
