- Flight Sergeant Ronald Percival Elston, 215 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Believed to have lived with his parents in Barnehurst at the time that he attended Dartford Grammar School (1935-38). Died 2.6.45, aged 21, when his Dakota transport aircraft broke up in mid-air due to turbulence. Buried in Gauhati War Cemetery, India, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
