- Private George Edward Ewers, Royal Army Service Corps. Lived at 102 Invicta Road, Stone, Dartford. Died 27.3.43, aged 37, when the SS City of Guildford was torpedoed and sunk off the coast of Libya by a German U-boat. Commemorated on the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial.
