- Signalman Ronald Douglas Farrance, Royal Corps of Signals. Lived at 1 High Street, Bean. Died 22.11.45, aged 21, when a Liberator of RAF Transport Command, carrying troops to India, crashed in Somerset shortly after take-off. Buried in Stone Cemetery, Dartford.
