- Sergeant George Charles Green, 466 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived at 11 Knockhall Grove, Greenhithe. Died 26.6.43, aged 21, when his Vickers Wellington bomber was shot down during a raid on Gelsenkirchen. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial and on the Greenhithe War Memorial.
