- Flight Sergeant (Air Bomber) James Lane Harden, 463 (RAAF) Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived with his mother at 46 West View Road, prior to his marriage. Died 23.4.44, aged 22, when his Lancaster bomber was shot down returning from a raid on Braunschweig. Buried in Nieuwolda General Cemetery, Netherlands.
