- Second Lieutenant Ronald John Sydney Hicks, 147 (The Essex Yeomanry) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery. He had grown up in Dartford and his parents still lived at 111 Havelock Road. Died 29.6.44, aged 21, killed in action. Buried in Tilly-sur-Seules War Cemetery, France, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
