- Chaplain The Rev. William Edmund (‘Ben’) Holt, Australian Army Chaplains Department attached to 2/28 Battalion, Australian Infantry. His parents lived at 19 Marcet Road and he had attended Dartford Grammar School 1922-24 but had lived in Australia for the past 14 years. Died 22.6.45, aged 36, when he was shot by a Japanese sniper while attending the wounded in Brunei Bay on the island of Borneo. Buried in Labuan War Cemetery, Malaysia, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
