- Flight Sergeant Alan Aubrey Jarvis, 170 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He had grown up in Dartford and his parents still lived at 39 Sussex Road. Died 10.4.45, aged 19, when his Lancaster bomber was shot down by a German night fighter during a raid on a U-boat construction yard at Kiel. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
