- Flying Officer (Navigator) Llewellyn Quinlan Jenkins, 620 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived at 19 Gainsborough Avenue, Dartford. Died 19.5.44, aged 23, when his Stirling glider tug collided with another aircraft during a glider-towing exercise in advance of D-Day near RAF Fairford. Buried in Haycombe Cemetery, Bath, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
