- Wing Commander Douglas Andrew Kerr, DSO, 148 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Lived at The Vernons 25 Heath Close Road, Dartford. Died 22.6.42, aged 25, when his Wellington bomber was hit by flak. Commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt, and on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel. Brother of William Mark Kerr who died 30.11.42.
