- Pilot Officer (Wireless Op./Air Gunner) Robert John Fernie Lunn, 230 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. His parents lived at 53 Highfield Road, Dartford. Died 7.9.42, aged 25, when his Sunderland flying boat crashed while attempting to make an emergency landing following an engine fire. Buried in Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
