- Lieutenant James Richard Lyddon, 3rd Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. Lived at 125 St Alban’s Road, Dartford. Died 25.5.40, aged 26, killed in action in France, two days after arriving. Buried in Calais Southern Cemetery, France, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
