- Sergeant Robert Samuel Manktelow, 1 Overseas Aircraft Despatch Unit, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. His wife lived at 176 Wilmot Road, Dartford. Died 6.10.42, aged 32, when his Wellington bomber took off from Gibraltar for North Africa but hit the rock face on the island. Commemorated on the Gibraltar Memorial.
