- Private Denis James Martin, 2/6th Battalion, The Queen’s Royal Regiment (West Surrey). His parents lived at 9 St George’s Cottages, Whitehill, Longfield. Died 6.3.44, aged 19, cause unknown. Buried in Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio, Italy, and commemorated on the Longfield War Memorial.
