- Flight Sergeant Charles Henry Maxted, 207 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived at 118 Lowfield Street, Dartford. Died 20.2.44, aged 32, when his Lancaster bomber disappeared during a raid on Leipzig, Germany. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial and on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
