- Stoker 1st Class Albert Arnold Mole, HMS Cleopatra, Royal Navy. He had grown up in Dartford and his parents still lived at 27 Hallford Way. Died 16.7.43, aged 20, when HMS Cleopatra suffered serious damage having been torpedoed by Italian submarine Dandolo. Buried at sea and commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
