- Radio Officer Ronald Edmund Moore, SS Brinkburn (Sunderland), Merchant Navy. Lived in Barnehurst but believed to have attended Dartford Grammar School 1936-40. Died 21.6.43, aged 18, when SS Brinkburn was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat. Commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial and on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
