- Sergeant Richard George Oliver, 15 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived at 6 Woodward Terrace, Horns Cross, Stone, Dartford. Died 8.12.42, aged 29, when his Stirling bomber was shot down by a German night fighter while on a mine-laying mission in the Baltic. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
