- Sergeant-Pilot Douglas Allen Potts, 615 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived at 21 Miskin Road, Dartford. Died 27.10.41, aged 21, when his Hurricane fighter was lost over the Netherlands while conducting low-level attacks on ground targets. Buried in Flushing (Vlissingen) Northern Cemetery, Netherlands and commemorated on the memorial plaque in the Methodist Church, Spital Street, Dartford, and on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
