- Sergeant (U/T Air Bomber) John Herbert Renshaw, 29 Operational Training Unit, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Lived in Crayford but attended Dartford Grammar School 1928-36. Died 26.1.43, aged 22, when his Wellington bomber crashed in training at RAF Wyton. Buried in Houghton and Wyton Burial Ground, Cambridgeshire, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
