- Private Thomas Alexander Saunders, 2nd Battalion, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment. Lived at 8 Wood Street, Swanley, but had grown up in Sutton-at-Hone where his parents still lived at 7 Smythe Road. Died 7.9.44, aged 32, following an accident whilst on duty as a dispatch rider. Buried in St Paul’s Churchyard, Swanley, and commemorated on the Swanley War Memorial.
