- Driver Leslie Norman Simes, Royal Army Service Corps. He had grown up in Longfield and his parents still lived at St John’s Cottage, Station Road. Died 20.12.44, aged 23, killed in a traffic accident while on duty. Buried in Coriano Ridge War Cemetery, Italy, and commemorated on the Longfield War Memorial.
