- Private Sidney Bernard (‘General’) Smith, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, Army Air Corps. He grew up in Dartford and his parents still lived at 64 Mayfair Road, Dartford. Died 14.7.43, aged 21, killed in action presumably during Operation Fustian, the capture of the Primosole Bridge in Sicily. Buried in Catania War Cemetery, Sicily.
