- Leading Motor Mechanic Bruce Albert Strong, HM Motor Torpedo Boat 634, Royal Navy. His parents lived at 7 Ingress Terrace, Betsham. Died 31.12.43, aged 19, at sea on war service. Buried in Bari War Cemetery, Italy, and commemorated on the Southfleet Second World War Memorial Plaque.
