- Ordnance Artificer 3rd Class John William Taylor, HMS Bicester, Royal Navy. Lived at 3 Rowhill Terrace, Wilmington, Dartford. Died 12.11.42, aged 24, in an enemy air attack while assisting a gun crew during the landing of Allied forces in North Africa. Commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
