Introduction
Flight Sergeant (Navigator) Frederick John Turkentine, 106 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. His parents lived at of 4 Viaduct Terrace, South Darenth but he attended Sutton-at-Hone Schools and worked for Baldwins (instrument makers) in Dartford. Died 18.12.44, aged 22, when his Lancaster bomber was lost during a raid on the German Baltic Fleet in Gdynia. Buried in Malbork Commonwealth War Cemetery, Poland, and commemorated on the Horton Kirby Roll of Honour Tablet in St Mary’s Church.
