Introduction
Sergeant George Alfred Wilson, 1669 (Heavy) Conversion Unit, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He had grown up in Dartford and his parents still lived at 15 Knole Road. Died 4.1.45, aged 22, with five others when their pilot ordered them to bale out from their Halifax bomber over the Bristol Channel before he eventually managed to regain control and land safely. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
