- Arthur Douglas Backhauser of 220 Princes Road, Dartford. Died of wounds at County (West Hill) Hospital, Dartford, on 16.6.44, aged 30, having been injured at home earlier that day in a V1 flying bomb incident. He was a lieutenant in the Mobile Column, 24th Battalion, Home Guard. Buried in Watling Street Cemetery, Dartford, and commemorated on the Civilian War Memorial, Watling Street Cemetery, Dartford.
