- Gunner Alan Cyril Oakley, 9 (8th Battalion, The Buffs [Royal East Kent Regiment]), Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery. He had grown up in Dartford and had lived with his father and stepmother at 220 Dartford Road, Dartford, prior to his father’s death and his own marriage. Died 2.8.44, aged 22, killed in action in Normandy. Buried in Ranville War Cemetery, France.
