- Cook Lawrence William Henry Baker, MV Aqueity, Merchant Navy. Lived at 28 Park Road, Swanscombe. Died 17.12.40, aged 26, when MV Aqueity hit a mine off Southend-on-Sea. Buried in Swanscombe Cemetery and commemorated on the Roll of Honour at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Swanscombe.
