- Serjeant John Michael Bate, 5th Battalion, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment. Believed to have attended Dartford Grammar School 1930-36. Died 4.9.42, aged 22, cause unknown. Buried in El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt, and commemorated on the Dartford Grammar School In Memoriam Panel.
