- Sailor William George Brown, SS Benvorlich, Merchant Navy. Lived at 41 Ashen Drive, Dartford. Died 19.3.41, aged 25, when SS Benvorlich was sunk by a German aircraft off Ireland. Buried at sea and commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial.
