- Private Dangerfield Carey, 4th Battalion, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment. Lived at 33 Hill Rise, Lane End. Died 17.3.44, aged 31, cause unknown. Buried in Taukkyan War Cemetery, Myanmar, and commemorated on the Darenth Church Memorial Tablet. Brother of William Carey who died 26.3.42.
