- Private Kenneth Albert (‘Kennie’) Chalkley, 1st Battalion, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment. He had grown up in Dartford and his parents still lived at 63 Fulwich Road. Died 16.5.44, aged 20, killed in action in Italy. Buried in Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
