Introduction

Policies in the adopted local plan (The 2024 Dartford Plan) that geographically apply to specific designated areas of the Borough are set out on the Policies Map.

In certain circumstances, particularly  to help  inform  developers/ planning applications of local conservation and design evidence and aims, individual area-based documents are additionally provided. And in the case of conservation areas and the advertisement control area, this evidence is a statutory requirement that must be considered.

The applicable document for each area is provided on these pages. This evidence should always be considered with reference to relevant Dartford local plan policy.

For summary data on neighbourhoods, brand-new area profiles have been created by the council providing factfiles on local areas making up the borough, in particular utilising results of the last census (2021). This covers the social, environmental and economic characteristics of neighbourhoods, and further local planning policy information specific to locality. These provide essential data and context for each Borough ward/wards, or individual town (or parish) councils. The largest profile covers a number wards representing the Dartford town area.
